Upload an Image

You may upload a local image from your
system or select an image already loaded
into the WCMS. The resolution or aspect
ratio required for each image type is noted
within the individual training modules.
It’s important to use the proper size—an
image that is too small may appear pixilated
on screen, while a too-large image can slow
down the loading of a page. Aspect ratio
is also key, as an image with the incorrect
aspect ratio may be stretched vertically or
horizontally to fill the space. Upload From Your Computer To add a local image from your computer, stay on the Upload tab.

1. Click the Browse or Choose File button
under Upload a New File. Browse to the
file, select it and click Open. Then select
Upload.

2. Under Folder, select Product Images from
the dropdown menu to store your image
properly. Click Next.

3. Enter the image Name and Alternate
Text that describes the image and includes
important keywords, such as the full
product name.

! This text is used by screen readers and search engines, and appears any time an image cannot be loaded. Adding alt text improves accessibility and search effectiveness.

4. Enter the image Title Text.

! Title text appears when a mouse hovers over the image. This provides context and improves usability.

5. Enter a general Subject for the image, to
aid in your future image searches.

6. Under Media Folder, confirm that the
correct destination folder is selected,
so your image will be stored in the right
location.

7. Input any Tags or keywords that might aid
in search.

8. It’s recommended that you leave the Asset
License Type, Countries, Copyright,
Author and Expiry Date blank.

! Do not enter an expiration date unless all uses of this image will be expired by that date, or the image may not appear on other pages as expected.

9. Add URL Redirect details, if you have any
vanity URLs or expired pages directing
here.

10. Add page and content Meta Tags to aid in
search performance and user access. Visit
Meta Tags for details.

Select An Existing Image

To use an image already loaded into the
WCMS, select the Library (MBP), My files
(MBP) or Library tab. Browse for the desired
image and double click to select.
